1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Schemity ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Software.

2. Description of the Software

Schemity is an offline desktop application for database ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) visualization and migration generation. The Software runs entirely on your local machine and supports MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

3. Privacy and Data Handling

Schemity is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • Offline Operation: Schemity operates entirely offline. Your database schemas, designs, and all project data are stored locally on your machine and are never transmitted to our servers.
  • No Personal Data Collection: Schemity does not collect, store, or process any personal information beyond what is strictly required for license verification.
  • Local Storage: All schema information, project files, and application data are stored exclusively on your device in local JSON files. You retain full ownership and control over your data.
  • License Verification: The only information Schemity requires is your device ID and email address, used solely for the purpose of license activation and verification.

4. Third-Party License Service

License management and verification are handled by LemonSqueezy, a third-party payment and licensing platform. By using Schemity, you acknowledge that:

  • Your device ID and email address are shared with LemonSqueezy for the sole purpose of license verification.
  • LemonSqueezy's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to their handling of your information.
  • No database schema data, project files, or other user content is ever shared with LemonSqueezy or any other third party.

5. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Schemity grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Software for personal or commercial purposes in accordance with the license type you have acquired.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Software.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the Software.
  • Use the Software in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

6. Preview Software

Schemity is currently provided as preview software. This means the Software may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features. The Software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during the preview period. We appreciate your feedback and patience as we continue to improve the product.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCHEMITY AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

9. Database Connections

Schemity may connect directly to your databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) as configured by you. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your database credentials and connections are properly secured. Schemity does not store your database credentials on any remote server — all connection details remain on your local machine.

10. Updates

We may release updates, patches, or new versions of the Software from time to time. While we strive to maintain backward compatibility, we cannot guarantee that updates will not affect your existing configurations or workflows.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Software after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
